Research grant for MSc (1 available position)
Profile / Preferential criteria for the Master Degree Scholarships:
– Master in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related areas;

Selection criteria
The CV evaluation will focus on the following parameters:
– Proven knowledge in chemistry (35%);
– Proven knowledge in the structural characterization of materials (30%);
– Final classification of the 5 years of formation (25%);
Availability to pursue undergraduate studies (10%).

The top 3 on the CV evaluation will be interviewed and appreciated in the following parameters:
– Communication and oral expression (25%);
– Critical analysis and critical sense (25%);
– Motivation and interest in the work (25%);
– Fluency in English (25%).

The work plan will be carried in the Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra, and it consists in the development of new natural-based materials to be applied has PVC plasticizers, studies of chemical, physical and mechanical characterization, and evaluation of existing “green” plasticizers on the market.
The duration of the research grant will be 13 months, and eventually renewable until the end of the project.
The research grant will be of 980€, corresponding to the monthly subsidy stipulated in the FCT table. This monthly subsidy will be paid at the end of the month by bank transfer, and to this value, it is added the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first step if the candidate chooses to assign it, as well as the personal accident insurance. The value of the grant will not increase over the whole period of its duration.

Research grant for PhD (1 available position)
Profile / Preferential criteria for the Post-doc Scholarships:
– PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related areas;

Selection criteria
The CV evaluation will focus on the following parameters:
– Proven knowledge in the specific researching areas indicated (60%);
– Publications in international reviews (number, relevance and effective contribution
of the candidate
).

The top 3 on the CV evaluation will be interviewed and appreciated in the following parameters:
– Communication and oral expression (25%);
– Critical analysis and critical sense (25%);
– Motivation and interest in the work (25%);
– Fluency in English (25%).

The work plan will be carried in the Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra.
The duration of the research grant will be 12 months, and eventually renewable until the end of the project.
The research grant will be of 1495 €, corresponding to the monthly subsidy stipulated in the FCT table.
